Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Proud and arrogant because of his status as a 'legendary dragon', Ragnok is also considered intolerable by many of the other dragons in the cave, even by his mate, Winterr Solstice. He claims that because he is legendary, he must have the best sunning spot, the best food, the best sleeping spot, even the best toys. Whenever he starts one of these rants, EchoSong often has to restrain her Hellfire Wyverns, Fell's Fyre and Fell's Solstice, from tearing him into shreds.

But Rangok isn't just an empty boaster; he really is one of the best fighters in the cave, and a clever one at that. He's also a great hunter, easily able to take down a bison by himself. Of course, this is probably why he is resented so much; because when he boasts about his skills, he's right.
