Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Lazarus came from a cult that rescued him as an egg. He was unruly as a hatchling but soon had respect beaten into him. Yet the cult's elders remembered and decided to test his loyalty by putting him on an egg-raiding team as soon as he matured. When Lazarus realized that this was how he had been rescued he turned on his comrades. They injured him severely and left him for dead. He ate and drank and felt stronger. But he didn't feel any better so he kept walking until he came to the sea. Taking to the air he meant to exhaust himself and crash into the waves. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he didn't notice the approaching island, and crashed into a tree. The inhabitants rushed to Lazarus' aid. As he recovered he pondered their kindness and resolved to stay and try to repay them. Initially he felt ineffectual, but he soon discovered a talent for carving and started making sculptures. Lazarus now has a son, and if he ever has doubts his mate Merab is there to comfort him.
