Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Jardivar, the cheese dragon. That sounds odd to most of the dragons in the cave. Everyone in the cave wants to eat him, but some know better than to eat up a friend, so they protect him when he needs them.

Even though some say "he's not alive", one can tell that he is, since he grew up from an egg into an adult. He played as a hatchling and loved to hang out with the paper dragons. However, as a fully grown dragon, he's now in the shadows where no one notice him, and stays with the paper dragons and his best friend, Qutri.
