The egg faded away completely; in its place there’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t seem to have much substance, though.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Every year, eight little Halloween hatchlings go trick-or-treating at various human towns and villages. Skaski has issues with personal space, phasing through doors if he's impatient, curious, or just dissatisfied with the amount of candy he received. He always drops his bag of candy in the process, often returning to find it considerably lighter than when he left, but has yet to figure out who would be so rude as to steal from him. Skaski always dresses up as a ghost, either as a statement or because he can't bother to think of anything more creative.
