Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shakti Celestine Frills is a most gentle dorsal dragon. Some people are, when watching her behavior, reminded of a tame shy cat. Yet this "kitten" prefers to avoid conflicts to showing her claws, while she still always shows elegance, not fear.

In this cave, there is one dragon who's spirit is close to hers: the Seasonal dragon "Untold Harvest". The mates give comfort to each other. Their love created two eggs, and some human took them to take care of them. After some time came the message that both of the eggs were found broken and the hatchlings dead.

Bound together by grief, Untold Harvest Apox and Shakti Celestine Frills spend all their hope on their new egg, wishing it to hatch and grow.

A few days later:

A message arrived. The third egg had died, barely noticed in some corner of some dirty cave.

No-one knows wheather Untold Harvest and Shakti Celestine Frills will ever have the courage to mate again.
