As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Foraey is the Prince of ShadowDance Valley. He is not the biological son of the King and Queen (Hakaran and Kaeqira), but an orphan they adopted as a hatchling. They treat him as they would their first-born son,  and love him just as much.  He in turn respects them as he would real parents—to him, they are. The dragons of the Valley adore him for his playful, energetic spirit and generous nature, and have accepted him to be the heir to the throne. As he is actually quite shy among dragons he is not close to, he finds it hard to converse with anyone new to the Valley, or who he has not grown up with.
