Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When a human found Iris, turned and abandoned by some vampire, she had little hope for the egg's survival. The egg was stone cold to the touch and no amount of time spent inside the hearth heated it. It was much to her surprise when she awoke to find a tiny but alive hatchling curled up besides her cat. The dragon continued to grow until it was simply too big to remain in the cottage anymore. Iris began to attract interest from wild dragons, so the human began to lay claim to the forests and mountains on the edge of the farm's land. Many more dragons began to settle in the claimed territories in a communal clan, relaxed to finally have a home where they could live without being hunted. Iris became the acknowledged leader of them, even leading her own lineage of vampires that had been turned by her. She never forgets her roots, often traveling back to the farm to visit her human. On occasions she brings gifts or, even rarer, takes her human out for flights.
