Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It always seems to be hungry.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

SpringHarvestField is a handsome little Harvest Dragon hatchling. He could almost be the perfect Harvest hatchling, he looks so good. He is very healthy and spends a lot of time taking care of his looks. He is always bathing and preening, to make sure his scales are perfect. SpringHarvestField cares as much about how he looks as he does about food, which is a lot. He can get a little plump in the Fall, to prepare for his long sleep during Winter, but he still tries to keep himself looking as handsome as he can.
