Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The world was just a dream. The red-scaled hatchling loved his dream very much, but knew that someday he would have to wake up. After all, a paradise like this- a world where dragons only fought to exercise their power, where he had close friends, where he could fight full-grown dragons, even Guardians of Nature, and win and have tea with them that afternoon- it couldn't be real.

Of course it was a dream, but the dream had taken a life of its own, and its inhabitants were willing to fight him to keep the world alive. And in the end, the power of his fantasy overcame the impossible odds and his dream paradise was real, hidden away in a remote valley.

He still has tea with that Guardian of Nature every now and again.
