Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nessy Jay was the fastest dragon in the sky. As a young dragon, he took part in dragons' version of "drag racing," challenging all others. He never lost.

As Nessy Jay raced for the Dragon Cup, dragon racing's most prestigious prize, he was well ahead, seconds from the finish line. Suddenly, he glimpsed a dragon hatchling, trying his wings for the first time. The little one struggled, straying onto the raceway. Nessy Jay looked back at his closest competitor. Shocked, he realized the dragon was simply going to run over the little one, who tried with all his might to get out of harm's way.

Nessy Jay stopped, turned, and flew faster than any dragon before or since, rescuing the hatchling. He didn't win the Dragon's Cup, but to this day Little Ghost has been as a son to Nessy Jay.

This year, Little Ghost, taught by the best, will take his first shot at the Dragon's Cup.
