Diamondwing Dragons are named for the myriad tiny scales that grow on their wing membranes, lending them a faceted, lustrous appearance. These meticulous creatures will spend months ranging far and wide to collect the shiniest trinkets and gemstones to adorn their nests. Once his nest is complete, a male Diamondwing will perform an elaborate aerial dance hoping to impress potential mates with his beauty and prowess.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like his father and many other male Diamondwing Dragons, Lepidolite is a ladies' dragon. He's highly flirtatious, often showing off his fabulous wings. He is a wondrous dancer (learning that skill from his mother) and is known well for it. Any females he likes in particular he will woo with his beauty, or at the very least attempt to. Not every potential mate has fallen for him exactly.
