Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Foighneach is a female Nocturne dragon who, as her name implies, is very patient. This trait is useful one to have for a dragon who spends half of her life in a stationary position. Foighneach will wait for a very long time before she finally gives up on something, a fact which has subjected her to the pranks of many Misfit pygmies. She is sometimes referred to as stubborn, although Foighneach prefers to call herself determined. She is a dragon who, once they have begun something, will carry out that task until it is completed. This had landed Foighneach in situations where she was overcome by tasks set either by herself or others.

Foighneach will gladly offer help to others. She is a friend to many of the dragons in the Land of HeroHorse, particularly the hatchlings. Foighneach's patient nature means that she is willing to endure the hatchlings' chatter and even tolerates being used as a climbing frame. She is sometimes glimpsed in the night sky, guarding the young dragons from above.
