Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silvergreen Blessing is better known as Silvie and adamantly claims he has a silvery sheen to his scales, though no one can really see it. Many think he believes this because he was one of seemingly many disappointments to his father, abandoned as soon as he was laid and picked up only on a whim by the Specialist. She named him for his parentage as an experiment to observe the effects of a constant negative reminder on a normally easygoing breed. His mate, which he originally refused due to her "less noble lineage", is similarly named, but shows less than a fraction of the results he does. This deluded dragon enjoys basking in the sun, presumably imagining the glow he would be emitting if he were what his father so desires and is often subjected to the Specialist's probing verbal questionnaires.
