Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Soliniaria, literally air soul, is one of the eldest dragons in the cave of Dream in Shadow- broodmate of Shasta-Shkann and Dgaar Shadek, she and Shasta-Shkann are friends only because they are united in teasing Dgaar Shadek.

Soliniaria spends most her time in the air, practicing aerobics and bringing along any human who wishes to go on a wild ride.

Contrary to her broodmates, who see humans as pests, an inferior species, or a fact of life, Soliniaria enjoys the company of her fellow sentient beings and has friendships with many of them.

Sometimes teased good-naturedly about this by other dragons, Soliniaria shrugs off such comments with a smile and the wave of a wing.

Soliniaria currently lives in Australia, where the warm updrafts of air help her gain altitude with little effort.
