Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Iced Teardrop seems to be incredibly sorrowful all the time for some reason or another. None of the other hatchlings are quite sure what the problem is, but most dragons think her misery is connected to the lake where the water dragon Fisa lives. She rarely speaks a word, instead sitting very still, with the patience comparable to the nocturne dragons during the day. It is also a mystery as to when or why she was put in a frozen state, so rumors continue to fly. For now, she sits isolated from the other dragons, in the furthest recesses of the cave, lost to sight, and lost to memory.
