Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lights was born in Luna Bell's herd, but she was never happy there. All of the other dragons only seemed interested in each other and they hardly ever paid attention to her. No matter how much she groomed or how beautiful her scales, she was just a background character in the daily cave life. She grew to be very dissatisfied with her life there and even started to hate the other dragons. One day she noticed a sort of mist following her around. It was barely visible but, over time she was convinced some mysterious dragon was following her. The mist only ever seemed to follow her around and it gave her all the attention she wanted. Slowly she fell in love with this dragon and decided to talk to him one day. She ran away from the cave she hated with him and lived happily with the dragon ever since.
