And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Dogwood loves autumn best out of all the seasons and her favorite pastime is running through the dead leaves on the forest floor. She loves the crunching noises they make and sometimes she'll even bring some back to the cave. She likes red leaves best, but she will also collect gold, green, and brown ones to line her hoard, very much akin to a nest. At night, she snuggles up in her hoard, protecting all of her findings with the vigilance of a hawk.
