Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ronin is a close friend of Set, the Spitfire Dragon. He often leaves the ARBL's cave for the desert, where his elusive friend dwells. Ronin and his fellow Black Dragons (with the exception of Monomi), under leadership of Riku, are sometimes considered a sub-flight of the ARBL's dragons, hunting in a pack for much larger prey than they would have some trouble with alone. For some reason, Ronin's mood gets a lot worse whenever he's around Metroid, which his fellow dragons have yet to understand. Most of his time is spent with Set, the Black Dragon pack, or just hanging around the cave, where he can sometimes be found training in magic, though he has yet to approach even half the skill level of Druid.
