Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Taylor Samson owes much of his training to his mentor and friend Axel Stone. Taylor is a quick learner and quick to help other dragons, often taking hatchlings with him as he ventures outside the cave. He calls these trips "Educational Random Activities", and all hatchlings hope for him to visit. Even when not going on an Educational Random Activity, he plays with the hatchlings and lets them crawl all over him. He loves hatchlings and occasionally tries to play with the young of different species, although some small people find him terrifying. Parents are sometimes concerned that he intends to steal away children, although he never takes them away from homes without knowing the parents well. Despite only talking in growls and roars, he has a wild legion of fans, both young and old. Some of those fans have been teased as people occasionally think he's only an imaginary friend. Since he has some grasp of other languages, he knows when it happens. He often visits those children more.
