Turpentine Dragons are named for the oil that covers their scales. This oil resembles turpentine in odor and is mildly toxic; it will not kill but it burns to the touch and will cause illness in anyone who ingests it. Turpentine Dragons roam in large packs, often stealing food from larger dragons, though they are able to hunt for themselves if necessary. Many other breeds consider Turpentine Dragons to be pests, so they primarily breed among themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Chahel is good-natured and cheerful, but he gets serious and vicious in dangerous situations. Chahel has always respected and admired nature. He is very proud of this and is willing to help any living being. His obsession with nature has made him become a vegetarian. He helps his clan a lot with stimulating the crops and making the environment healthy. But because of his strong dedication with animals he also tries to prevent his fellow clan members from hunting prey. This easily makes Chahel very unpopular with his clan. Chahel can stop hunting dragons easily because he is a strongly toxic turpentine dragon. Even when some clan members can overpower him they are too exhausted to do anything further when the battle is over. Even though the fauna grows beautiful when Chahel takes care of it, he isn't appreciated by some. Chahel is a sensitive dragon that can easily be provoked. Chahel is best friends with his clan member Brandon Act, though he has befriended more animals than dragons.
