Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

WhipTamer is the owner's circus dragon. He is always flipping in the air and putting on shows for the owners dragons. His mate, Night Flyyer, is not his actual mate. Though most of the owners dragons have mates, Night Flyyer does not have a specific mate. WhipTamer's name comes from him always watching lion tamers at circus shows. The owner named him WhipTamer because of that reason and that he is a Whiptail Dragon.
