Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Onyxyal ShadowSpark (after the gemstone: Onyx) is the 207th Clan Mystal dragon, and although she is not cruel, there can be no doubt that her tendencies uphold the stories of her breed. Her strength is uncanny and she is undoubtedly a force to be avoided in the heat of battle. Her magical prowess is unparalleled, even by the most skilled of her clan mates, and uses her talents like a knight wields his sword. She seems to thrive on conflict, or rather, being the solution to those disagreements, and where ever unrest or tension begins to flare, she can usually be found nearby. In the darkness of night, she serves as a spark in the shadows, which appears to grow stronger with each passing year. Little else is known of her, for she rarely interacts in any kind of social niceties, preferring instead to remain distant and almost aloof, watching from afar like a gargoyle perched to strike in an instant. Some hope that she will eventually select a mate, and perhaps become a bit more friendly.
