Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

On most nights he climbs onto a cliff near the Les clan main cave and gazes off into the distance longingly, for reasons only he understands. In doing so he unintentionally lets off a bright light that acts as a lighthouse for dragons returning home. This has become symbolic of Les clan in a way, and when others mention it, they often refer to NightmareGift's unusual habit.
