Galvanic Wyverns possess a strength that seems impossibly vast for their size. They achieve this through their unique ability to extract magic in its purest form directly from mana. They then channel this energy throughout their bodies via the metallic conduits along their spines, wings, and tail tips, giving them their magically-augmented physical prowess, as well as the magical dexterity to lay devastating spells. However, once they have depleted a mana crystal, they are left vulnerable until they are able to harvest another.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A long time ago, Aen made the decision, or perhaps mistake, to begin dabbling in the usage of multiple mana crystals to augment her powers. Since she would select crystals based on energy output rather than affinity for her own elemental alignment, the strain of using different mana awakened a latent aggression in Aen's temperament and behavior. Some of her family members still whisper that Aen is aware of the change that her magical practices have wrought on her, and that's why she prefers to secret herself away amongst the high volcanic peaks. It's no surprise that she would prefer the company of the steady mana crystals rather than other dragons when she's always spoiling for a fight.
