Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s kind of shaky on its feet and enjoys playing in puddles.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sumisimi's dad died a long time ago when he was still a little egg. With his mom's depression, she cast a freeze spell on him to never grow old or leave her side forever. Sumisimi cannot grow old or grow his wings any bigger, this makes him very powerless and can never have a family of his own. But his heart is willing to forgive his Mother for her mistake and is willing to stay with her, till her death. The other dragons around him learn the word and meaning of "not to hold grudge on people and learn to forgive them when time passes by".
