Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Noxnette is a Nocturne dragon. Found in a rock heap by the Stone dragons while the family caves were being enlarged, her egg was recognised and kept in the hatchery, well out of the reach of sunlight. When the egg showed signs of hatching, it was moved into a dark cave to prevent the hatchling from winding up as a statue the instant it hatched. Unfortunately, this wasn't what the hatchling had in mind. The instant it hatched, the little dragon leapt past the babysitters into a sunbeam and froze into a statue which landed on the nearest dragon's head. Almost instantly unfreezing, the hatchling proceeded to run all over the caves, occasionally freezing when she ran into a patch of sunlight and causing her pursuers to trip over her. When she finally relaxed, she was told more about her kind. As an adult, Noxnette still loves running, albeit more carefully. But her family still sometimes bumps into the statue of a Nocturne dragon frozen in mid leap.
