Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In the Thoiris clan, the Ever Dream line of Daydreams has become a very highly regarded family and gained a lot of power over time. Most of the dragons involved have been proud to bear their respective surnames (determined by how far down the line one was born), and so far, none have rejected their designated mates... except one.

Wissen was the first one to outright refuse to continue the bloodline, followed by him announcing that this was not limited to his intended mate, but any female dragon whatsoever. He had only ever felt for other males, and nothing was going to change that. Fortunately, the Daydreams have never been as uptight about lineage as, say, the clan's Luminae or Seragammas, and have mostly been understanding, if a bit perplexed at first. Wissen now lives with his beloved mate, another Daydream called Eristar Bluebell, with his younger brother Quartz more than happy to carry on the line instead.
