Rosebud Dragons are a fun and social breed found most often in the spring. The petal-like feathers that grow on their sides spread their sweet and floral scent. Although they have poor eyesight, they have ribbon-like extensions that extend their olfactory abilities to help create a map of the area around them. When flying, Rosebud dragons tend to hover, using their wings to fan their scent throughout the air. A widespread breed, they go to great effort to visit as many flowery fields as possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Briars once lived under the ownership of a village perfumer. Throughout this life, she became quite sheltered and used to an easy lifestyle. When the old perfumer died of old age, she was sold to a cruel man who forced her into hard labor, constantly punishing her when her poor eyesight prevented her from completing tasks to his liking. Thankfully, Cheesemaker, who lived in the same village that the perfumer had, heard of her horrible fate and managed to send word to Shield Tail and Dark Drakon's dragon herd, asking them to free her and take her to their island home. Once she settled into her new and peaceful life, Briars quickly found a place in the dragon herd, helping Venus deDraco create her love potions. In addition, Briars soon grew close to Agamid and Pale Scale, even though their adamant hatred toward all humans leaves her slightly alienated due to her memories of the perfumer and his kindness to her.
