Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Benny Bat is an unusual character. She is rather devious, quite hostile, and extremely sarcastic. She chooses to befriend none of the other dragons, for she prefers her space. Her mate, Manny, abandoned her after she gave birth to her first egg, George. She proceeded to raise him herself, living in a small, dirty cave. She usually paid no attention to him, and he suffered much neglect, while she only bothered to provide a meal here and there, and this is unusual behavior for a mother dragon. Miraculously, George grew up to be successful. Benny now enjoys relaxing, basking in the sun while insulting the occasional innocent bystander. All suppose that she will waste the remainder of her life doing just this. Oh well.
