Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Timid would be the one word to accurately describe Maris, and his life is fairly lonely and simple. To his knowledge he is the only Bluna on the clan's western shore, and he goes about his day without much interaction with other dragons. The murky depths where the Deep Sea dragons live are much too frightening for him, as are the rocky shores where strange land dragons dwell. Few Water dragons live in the oceans around him, so sightings of them are few and far between. A naturally social creature, living in solitude can be hard for Maris, but he's learned to deal with it over the many centuries. Rumors of a whole pod of Blunae in the clan's southern waters give him hope that he won't be alone forever, but other rumors about a terrifying, man-eating sea monster around there keep his timid self from seeking out others of his kind.
