Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the starter of the Cadence lineage, Alexis's main concern is the welfare of his children, grandchildren and grand grandchildren. He retired from battles to stay at home and pass on his legendary fighting skills to the family's youth. Everyday if he is not teaching the hatchlings, he can be found flying over the mountain range where his clan inhabits, searching far and low for any sign of danger. 'Cadence Alexis', meaning 'the rhythm defender' came from this habit.

Cadence's cave is nearly at the top of the highest mountain, always sparkling with the beautiful light of his mate, a silver dragon, and the gleams from magical gems piling up inside. He chooses such a high place so he can easily come and go just by flying in. Little does he know that his cave has always been carrying a great role in the life of the Dark Sun clan. The light illuminates brightly even in the darkest night and unintentionally acts as a lighthouse, guiding lost dragons back home amidst storms and darkness.
