Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Finneto Finntay is a highly sensitive dragon. Finneto Finntay defender of the weak. Always hyper aware of other dragons emotions and behaviours. Teased as a hatchling because of his name, he learned what it was like to have his feelings hurt. Now he does everything he can to help hatchlings avoid going through what he went through. Whenever he sees any dragon picking on another he steps in to stop it. This has caused him to get into more then a few fights with others of his clan. Luckily for him though, the other clan dragons often back off from fighting him, after all, when he raises his fins on high he appears to be an absolutely intimidating size. Thus Finneto Finntay protects hatchlings and dragons from being picked on by intimidating would be persecutors.
