When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Almanexva is a gentle and kind dragon. Unlike most of her kind, she chooses to live in the ocean and explore the seas. When she's tired, she tends to stay as close to the cave as the water allows her to in order to be with her family of mixed dragons. Almanexva, who feels lonely from time to time, looks for a mate. Of course she's already got her eyes set on one particular dark blue loner of the family whose name is unknown to everyone including her. The problem is, the dragon she has a crush on is oblivious and doesn't seem interested in that kind of thing. Being a dragon with a lot of curiosity, she can't help but feel attracted to the mysterious second in command of the family. Though he sometimes brushes her off when she attempts to be friendly, they have an odd friendship that only they understand. Longing to someday get farther in her relationship with the dragon nicknamed 'Odd One Out', Almanexva does what she can to get his attention.
