It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Honey Umi (or Honey to her sisters and brothers) was named after her mother Honey Thuwed. She is the second sister of her clan after Kaiumi. She helps Kai watch the new eggs as they arrive and nurtures the young ones as if they were her own. When they are far from the banks and Sister Kai, Honey follows them wherever they roam and protects them from danger. Honey is looked to for wisdom and her wonderful maternal instincts when it comes to new egg arrivals. She has a long proud lineage and wishes to continue with her own children one day.  Honey's mate is the powerful and peaceful Shiroshema, who leads his own clan of three. His care and love for his family warms her heart. They currently await the birth of their first egg.
