Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A spell was cast to make this young one be a child forever. She is Maya, the original cold one. Maya Redfern is her name, and she has started the Maya Brand line. She's a little picky, but enjoys surprising travelers with her knowlege because they don't know she's never aging. Her favorite food is fish and her best friend is her adopted mother, the other frill in the clan.
