Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A very old and world-weary male, this dragon spent his youth as the captive of a most crooked human sorcerer. The warlock hated dragons with a fierce passion, but rather than outright killing his prisoner, he performed one dark experiment after another upon him, finding out dragon's weaknesses, ways in which they could one day be destroyed. But one day Claudandus broke free, killing his captor of so many years and hiding himself away from sight...but not forgetting how he had suffered at the hands of humans. Determined to usher in a new era--a time when dragons and dragons alone rule the world, and humans cease to exist--he has set about ensuring the strengthening of his kind through selective breeding, encouraging the beginnings of a cult in which the sickly and foolish are sacrificed for 'the greater good' and only the strongest and brightest reproduce, and killing any weak dragon he strays across. However, there's one dragon who plans to put an end to his misguided savagery.
