Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Fin Scale's egg was hatched by an eagle. Her mother laid her egg in an eagle's nest since she did not want to care for it. The eagle, thinking it was its egg, hatched it and Fin Scale promptly ate the eagle and all the eggs. Since then, her favorite food has been birds and eggs. Luckily, Warrior was taking one of the hatchlings for a walk, and found the small dragon trying in vain to get down from the nest.

Fin Scale is friends with Finscale, and they are inseparable. Many find it ironic that they have the same name. But Fin Scale's favorite dragon in the whole clan is RedFin, her mate. Whenever she is not with Finscale, she is with her RedFin. Despite their differences in colors, they adore each other. Fin and RedFin love to make nests for eggs, even if the eggs are not their own.
