When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gyarados Gary used to swim all over the world, tasting the fishes each ocean had to offer. He loved sightseeing and even just allowing the tide to take him along to someplace new. One brisk morning, he had found his way down a lazy river, skirted by a lush forest. Gary felt like having a bit of fun, so he began tugging random vines that he could reach, making the tree limbs quiver. That was, until an indignant yelp sounded out. A dark green snout burst through the damp earth, followed by a head, bright yellow eyes squinting warily in his direction. Gary's big, black eyes met the bright yellow eyes. His cheeks turned a lovely shade of scarlet. This was when he first met his mate for life, Whip Gnasher. The two males have been in love ever since.
