Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The December Soldier is a fighter. She was abandoned by her parents in an open field during a massive blizzard in late December one year. She spent days wandering about in the cold and became very sick. She was close to death when a young warrior dragon by the name of Abisso Scuro found her. He picked her up in his claws and carried her to a large cave overlooking a wide valley. In that cave was a wide array of dragons of all ages and breeds. When seeing how sick The December Soldier was, the dragons quickly rushed to her aid and slowly improved her health. Eventually, her illness disappeared altogether. However, her sickness had damaged her pituitary gland and she was no longer able to grow. All of the dragons in the cave grew fond of her personality and accepted her into their community permanently. To this day, The December Soldier still lives in the gave and is forever grateful of the dragons that saved her life, especially Abisso Scuro.
