Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. A famous actress in various plays around Drakeville, Mistress Firework lives a luxurious life in the city. She is quite dramatic, on the stage and off, and speaks in what would be the dragon equivalent of a slight British accent (even though she fakes it). She and her best friend, Sparkler, are the leaders of a group of Christmas dragons who spread cheer around the city during the holidays. For example, they always put on a spectacular firework show in Drakeville on Christmas eve, sing Christmas carols to all the houses in the city, and bake multiple batches of cookies and peanut brittle for the other dragons in her clan. She is frequently seen with her mate, Sir Snowball, a Winter Magi.
