Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The son of Vein (the Alcoholic, although few spoke that title openly), surely he must have been blessed! Raised on wealth and the worship of lesser beings, spoiled on fine meat and drink, with all the females his lust desired.

The truth was far different.

His father had little love for his bronze sons, and only disgust for the rest. Believing they were no more than vermin, he actively and violently butchered them. That was the horror this dragon tried to prevent, only to watch his beloved sister die before him.

Filled with hatred for his father, he tried to take his justice--and found his weakness against his sire's power brutally proven. Wounded and humiliated, he was cast into exile, where he now bitterly dreams of vengeance. While he has yet to find it, he has found some comforts in drink and in saving the lives of sunsongs--as if, in doing so, he might find redemption for his failure to save his sister.
