Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Catscratch is one of the weyr sweethearts, filling every second of his waking hours with social interaction of some sort or another. He is quite a dazzling creature as well, taking extra care to ensure that his frills and markings stand out well and clear no matter where he is, both as a defensive precaution and for the simple purpose of amusing hatchlings.

He is also quite keen on interacting with humans. Many who study the sciences of life and nature travel from the surrounding villages, bringing him offerings and rare oils in trade for his patience and assistance. Usually he is only too happy to oblige, allowing them to collect loose scales, talon clippings, and the remains of his meals. Most of the scientists that visit him are not capable of processing his telepathic speech, but the ones who can are shocked and delighted with Catscratch, devoting hours of their day to conversing with him about various aspects of draconian life.
