Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zasfirir, being Zauberer's son, followed in his father's footsteps to learn of the Gone. He learned they were ancient Elemental dragons ruled by a single Guardian of Nature; he found more from crumbling scrolls.

The scrolls offered a better history. They revealed the Avatars of Creation, Destruction, and Change—how they led to the initial downfall of the original Guardian of Nature. According to those scrolls, Change grew tired of how stagnant the world was; despite the alterations in appearance and the growth of all living things, there wasn't a true difference. It wasn't large enough to be called actual change. Upset by this staleness, he approached Creation and offered a deal; if Creation should bring into being something powerful enough to alter the world radically, Change would convince Destruction to let off enough for Creation to create grand things. Creation agreed—but the scroll ended there, leaving the rest unsaid.

Needless to say, Zasfirir was left very upset about that.
