Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Despite being a hatchling, and a small one at that, Nagadem can still cause a lot of trouble. She is known for playing mostly harmless pranks, though this may just be because of her choice of friends. Sure, she spends time with other dragons, but she can usually be found with a group of otters. The other dragons often call these otters "pests", and they would be right. The otters even refer to themselves as "The Pests" and Nagadem is very proud to be one of the best pranksters in the world. No dragon could argue with that, as they all admire her ability to add humor to any situation.
