Bolt Dragons are incredibly powerful dragons with the ability to wield lightning magic. They can be ruthless on occasion, but are generally mild unless provoked. Due to their intelligence and keen observational skills, it is incredibly arduous to attack a Bolt Dragon undetected. If threatened by a formidable opponent, Bolt Dragons will flare out their fin-like appendages to make themselves look more menacing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the first and oldest member of the clan, Lightning has been appointed as the leader by the others. She is a wise, gentle leader who prefers to win her followers over with kindness and honesty rather than forcing them to pledge their loyalty. Though she is slow to anger, those who know Lightning well warn against testing the extent of her patience. The last time she lost her temper, every tree within a two-mile radius exploded in the electrical storm that followed.
