Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Calm, peaceable, and level-headed, very few if any would guess at first glance that this dragon is an esteemed warrior. Yet a fighter he is, through and through, able to put wings, teeth, tail, and muscular coils all to deadly use in combat--but only when a great need forces him to do so. Believing strength is sometimes the only way to counter threats, his dedication to his training arises from a drive to protect others, and his selfless use of power has saved many lives. Yet true to his beliefs he seeks peace rather than strife, spending the great amount of time in which there is no need for his intervention on altruistic and relaxing pursuits. While lounging in the sun is one of his favorite ways to unwind, he also makes frequent visits to his brother Festivus in the south, the two always enjoying a good talk and a good wrestle.
