Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silver Desert Sands is a rather mysterious lumina. He lives out in the western deserts of his clan, spending his nights roaming the lonely, arid dunes, and watching the stars and nebulas scattered among the nighttime sky. He usually does not meet any other dragons, and spends a solitary life. The other dragons are just fine with that, as they generally have a bad image of luminas, and for a good reason: Silvery Stream of Nerju and Yenthaerin Sunfail PBIV, two abhorrently snobbish luminas, have a terrible reputation of yelling insults and ruining the reputations of any dragons they deem better than them. Still, what most of Silver Desert Sand's fellow dragons don't realize is that while those two luminas might be pompous snobs, that doesn't mean all of them are. In fact, Silver Desert Sands behaves better than most other luminas, and he would move in and live with his clan if he didn't fear all of the other dragons rejecting and behaving hostilely towards him.
