Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lucidus (meaning "Clear")is an albino dragon of unknown origins. He was found as an egg more through luck than anything else, as Pullus, a black dragon, who was but a hatchling at the time, brought it home from an abandoned cave nearby. He dislikes the sun, despite being protected from his skins oil, and as such spends most of his time in caves, watching over the new eggs that come in every so often. He hunts at night with Pullus, whom he relies on for sight.

  Despite being rather antisocial, Lucidus gets along well with all of the dragons, and the hatchlings adore him. When he is in an especially good mood, he will let the young ones slide down his long slippery neck. Lucidus makes an excellent protector of the eggs and hatchlings, possibly hinting at a guardian dragon ancestry, though it remains a mystery.

  He has formed a deep bond with Menta, though has become somewhat fearful for the little shy creature.
