Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Melanithum DarkCloud (after the gemstone: Melanite) joined the clan cave as the 120th member, her egg a special gift to The Clan Mother from a distant clan watched over by one known only as Iside. The first of her kind within the clan cave, The Clan Mother knew little of their characteristics, and so accepted the gift without input from the clan elders. Only later did she discover that the gift, perhaps, was intended a curse, rather than generosity, considering the typical nature and disposition of the breed. All things considered, she is rather mild tempered for her kind, but has caused numerous disruptions within the clan cave, and finds a sinister pleasure in swaying the clouds to darken and storms to persist. The smallest infraction infuriates her, and she regularly strikes out against any who dare to irritate her. The Clan Mother, however, refuses to accept the negativity and seems steadfast in the belief that she is NOT a lost cause, that time is sure to cool her hot temper.
