Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Thlipsi is an odd dragon. Like the rest of her breed, she is very protective. But while others prefer to be in the company of the ones they protect, she is more of a loner. She has dark brown eyes that look gold in the sunlight. With the exception of a choice few, she doesn't get along well with others, often speaking her mind on an issue, or discreetly manipulating others to suit her needs. The one she loves takes no notice of her, or to her mind he doesn't. She thinks no one will ever love her for she believes she lacks beauty as well as character. She left her parents early because they paid little attention to her. She is very sarcastic and is often found daydreaming or sleeping in the trees or drawing on the cave walls or the ground with her claws. She hates summer, often spending it in the cool caves or wading in shallow rivers or lakes.
